WEEK3 : Playing with the depth of field

Task: Using the same scene. capture an image with a shallow depth of field.

f/2.8 1/2000 ISO100

I enjoyed this task. We went to the basketball court one day full of sun, at noon. I had a strong graffiti as background and that helped me for my composition. This photo was taken with a f/2.8 diaphragm so the depth of field was shallow as you can see Brandon comes out focused and the rest is all blurry. As a constructive criticism of my photo, I must say that I should've take the photo of his entire body in order to better appreciate the entire area involved in the depth of field. I used a flash and a diffuser for this shot to get better results.

Task: Capture the same scene with a shallow depth of field, but change what part of the image is in focus.

f/2.8 1/2000 ISO 100

Same photo but the graffiti is now on focus (and the floor too!)

Task: Capture the same scene with a long depth of field to try and capture the same lighting result as image one and two

f/22 1/125 ISO 320

The f/22 gives more detail in all the photo. I'm going to chose this photo as my favorite because you can appreciate all the subjects on this composition. Brandon still my main subject but the graffiti does his part on this photo, telling me a story about the urban art present in the city and the life of its habitants

Thanks for watching and reading!
